AUCTION RULES

RULES FOR THE AUCTION

anime.au.11 reserves the right to not auction items that it considers inappropriate for any reason. Such items include non-Asian culture related items (except for comics, fantasy/sci-fi books & games, CDs), bootlegs, and offensive or adult material.
  1. There will be no bootleg items sold at the anime.au.11 auction. Organisers will only auction legal goods. If the seller has uncertainties over whether their item is genuine, please visit: http://www.otakunews.com/piratefaq.php.Organisers will inspect all merchandise prior to auction.
  2. Items must be submitted for inspection and registration at the auction table between 10am and 11:30am on the day of the convention. Items submitted after 11:30am will not be accepted.
  3.  Items registered may be in any condition. However, we do request that the exact condition of the item be specified at registration.
  4. Sellers have the option of setting a starting price for their item(s). If there are no bids tendered that are equal to or above the set starting price, the item will be passed in. If no starting price is specified, anime.au will assume any bid offered is acceptable.
  5. All transactions are cash at the time of the accepted bid and bids on items will be made in minimum $1.00 increments, unless the auctioneer has reason to choose otherwise.
  6. There will be no returns, swaps, or credit exchanges for this auction. All sales are in "as-is" condition. By definition all items auctioned are considered second hand. Purchases made will be at the buyer’s risk. Once the final bid is accepted, the purchase is final, and no negotiation will be entered into.
  7. The order of the items to be auctioned is entirely up to the auctioneers and organisers.
  8. anime.au.11 will charge a fee of 10% of the total value of each sale, rounded up to the nearest dollar. This fee will be donated to Red Cross Japan and Pacific Disaster Appeal.
  9. All items are the responsibility of the owners, and anime.au is not liable for any damage or theft.
  10.  While the seller is not required at the auction, it is to the seller’s benefit that they are present. This will allow the seller to answer any queries about the item’s history or condition, negotiate starting prices if the item is to be passed in, and properly address any other situation that might arise where attendance will be beneficial for the seller.
COLLECTION OF ITEMS
  1. Sold items must be collected by buyers during the auction, or immediately after. Sold items must be collected from the auction events theatre. If sold items are not collected during or immediately after the auction, they will be returned to the seller, and anime.au will keep any proceeds from the sale.
  2. All money and unsold items must be collected by sellers within one hour of the end of the auction, unless a prior arrangement for collection has been made with organisers. All money and unsold items must be collected from the auction table.
  3. All sellers will be given a receipt for their items at the time of drop off. This receipt must be kept and presented by sellers to auction staff at the time of collection.
  4. If money or unsold items are not collected within one hour after the end of the auction, or adequate proof of ownership cannot be established, then they will be disposed of.
  5. anime.au reserves the right to make alterations to these rules at any time.
